Ageism at work is now unlawful, but these laws will only work if we all challenge our prejudices about age. Despite the new law, people are still being turned down for jobs and treated unfairly because of their age.

Most people don't really know what age discrimination is, or how it affects more than a quarter of workers everyday, and everybody at some point in their lives.

A New Age is Born is a short film which highlights how ageism affects people at different points in their life. We would like you to watch the film. If you support our pledge to end age discrimination, sign our online petition. We are working with employers and MPs to challenge ageism and make a fairer future for everyone.

If you or someone you know has experienced ageism at work or elsewhere please e-mail us. We will show the most frequently asked questions on the message board.

A new age is born was produced by the Employers Forum on Age (EFA), an independent network of over 250 leading employers who recognise the value of employing people of all ages. For more information about the EFA, please visit the website.
